Stay hydrated
IN WINTER we lose more fluids through respiratory water loss than on warm days. When you can see your breath in the cold air, that’s actually water vapor that your body is losing. Health authorities commonly recommend eight 8-ounce glasses, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon.
Eat smart
Start a smart diet rather than a hard one, let’s start off by eating more vegetables and fruits than fats, and when you get that down, upgrade your diet step by step.

Speak up
Depression is a common Illness worldwide with over 260 million people affected. if you feel unproductive, stressed, or just feeling low. Talk to someone you trust such as a family member, friend, colleague or seek professional counselling.
Get massage therapy for stress relief
Massage also releases hormones like serotonin, dopamine and ocytocin – essentially, your body’s own natural defense against the effects of stress and elevated Cortisol levels. These hormones calm the body, create feelings of peace, and also aid in soothing the body to sleep.
I was lucky to find Hands of Hope (Bedford Ave) after my elbow surgery, back in March. Everyone there, Sauzon (?), Abbie, Jasmin, Mahmoud and Chrystal were exceptional. Sauzon got me started and Abbie took care of me over 2 months!. Since this was during the height of the Covid pandemic it was a miracle that therapy could continue, on limited schedule and with all necessary precautions & ppe. The atmosphere is very friendly and personal. The treatments and exercises gradually restored my movement. Without Abbie, Hands of Hope and their fortitude to work through these rough times my recovery would have been in jeopardy.

I never considered back pain in terms of improving mental health, but I can definitely see the correlation. There are many places that offer standing desks as an alternative, but simply being mindful of your posture goes a long way.

Maybe I can come over to her apartment and ask her if she’s open to the idea of attending counseling sessions.
